Wonderful use of texture, that grid overlay is stunning. A small suggestion: what if the ribbon hung over the edge of that grid texture? Being this a newsletter, however, that may be a pain in the ass to implement.
I feel a little bad for the person implementing this as a newsletter, what with the state of newsletter background images and all, but it is a very sexy design.

Yeah, I like the ribbons better over here. And I think you're definitely getting closer to Anthropologie without the big ribbon across the left side.

Looking really nice! Curious to know how you were gonna do the background image/patterns since some email clients don't support that css property.

@Stephen: Thanks! That's an awesome idea re: ribbon over the edge, I'm implementing it now. And thankfully I don't have to code this, haha. :D

This is so beautiful. Not overdone - just the right amount of detail too!

"thankfully I don't have to code this".
I love that! (says a person who has recently had to code such a newsletter)

Even just testing HTML email is a pain, backgrounds or no.

The person who is coding it is a bona-fide email expert who's on board with the design, don't feel too bad for him.
