This is rad! Can I ask about your process? Do you illustrate in Ai and then texture in Ai or Ps? And how do you go about texturing/creating the roughness?
@Jordan Scott I do about 98% of it in illustrator. The only thing I do in photoshop is the grain....which I could honestly live without. So all the illustration and texturing is done in AI. For his piece I'm really stretching myself and my use of texture. I've never been very good at actually painting so I'm trying to push this to have a real painted feel.

Looks great so far! Have you tried it with the water slightly lighter or the foreground a little darker? I think it may add a little more depth.
