The Unkillable Demon King

An adapted article from Mina Kimes’s original ESPN the Magazine publication about professional League of Legends player Faker, the Unkillable Demon King.

This 6.5x9.5 inch book was produced in Fall 2019 as an exercise in long-form typography and constructing narrative through pacing, content layout, modular grids, and overall thematic approach to the article itself.

All images were found online and then post-processed using a 6-color image trace in Adobe Illustrator. The copy is set in Avenir Next, Beatrice, and S-Core Dream, while the book itself is printed on 80lb text off-white butcher paper and 100lb neutral white cover paper from French Press. The book is hand-bound using a 5-hole stab-stitch binding.
