I have been so inspired by @Adam Trageser lately that I really wanted to try making some vintage type. I'm not sure if I will use this but, I hope to apply what I have learned when I start this project for my girlfriends vintage and restoration furniture side project. Had fun making it though. Oh and if you haven't heard of @Adam Trageser then please check out, like and follow him. Dude is amazing! Also, please check out @Jonathan Schubert@Adam Grason and @Nicholas D'Amico these guys are also legit!
@Rogie Thank you for your kind words. Jon has that style down and by no means do I want to go in this direction for my future design or look. His work is amazing and certainly an inspiration to us all. Although, I believe it is good to learn new things and make your own textures, patterns and new techniques. This was for mainly for fun and hardly something that represents me as a designer.
@Nick Slater what I meant was that Adam's work reminded me of Jon's. Your piece is really cool! Do you feel like it is more "you" than your current slater type?
This is really beautiful Nick. I love all the little barbs and the extended 'r'. Baseball meets the Wild West and a gorgeous color palette to boot. Very nice!
@Rogie I can see how that would look like that but, either way they both rock! I'm not sure what represents me right now. I love design and all types of design. I think maybe this represents me willing to explore and try new things. Regardless, I think this has gave me confidence to try new things. Do you think it represents me currently as a designer?
@Nick Slater I'm not sure...but thats where you seem to be right now, always growing, changing and trying new things. Thats great! You're super hungry. The you you are today will be different from the you of tomorrow. Maybe the best brand and way to represent yourself is to choose a business name that is grounded in your ideals. As a personal brand, maybe the best way to represent you is something along the lines of curiosity, change, wide range of skills, etc :)
I really dig this @Nick Slater! The one thing that is catching my eye is the bump on the inside of the r. I say that because looking at the other letters you see only one side of the stroke has the detail/bump, but the r has two. Combine that with it being a thicker stroke (which I do like) it just makes my eye get stuck. Other than that Beautiful!
Nick this is awesome!!! I think @Rogie hit it on the nose in saying it represents where you are in this moment. I know you don't want to take everything in this direction, but I hope you get addicted to making things like this. I'd love to see where your mind takes it!
SICK!! ;) I smell new logo that you can pass me....lol! This is now one of my new favs of yours bro!
Can't wait to see you and Rogie in person hashin' out design talk!

The horns on all the curves really give the type its own personality. You kill it every time!
