    Definitely a WIP here... first decent concept. The logo is for a school jog-a-thon in Orange County, CA... hence the subtle suggestion of hills and a sunset. The whole logo is made out of sections of a running shoe pieced/layered together to make a sort-of emblem. That's what i'm going for anyways.

    Like the idea of mountings, font and colors! Good debut!

    But from the first glance it doesn't look like hill. And overall I think there're too much things on the logo. Logos should be very simple and easy readable and catchy. Plus it's better to stick with vector for easy changing scale. I'm sure you will finish this W.I.P to something great!

    @Alex Pronsky, thanks! I completely agree with a traditional logo being simple, I thought i might be able to pull off something heavily stylized, since it's really only going to be used on a few things and only for about a month or so while the jog-a-thon is going on... but i'm going to try to make them a bit more hill-like and simplify a bit, thx for the advice!!

    @Greg Dlubacz , @Stanislav Hristov : Thanks!!
