Here's a design Im working on - some background stats for a gallery, nice and big, but that sit far enough back in the heirachy as not to compete with the thumbnails.

Do you think the numbers work there, and are evident enough showing your place in the filmstrip?
Would an animation help between the numbers? Like a 'dial'?
