Dig this a lot Mike. Immediately made me think of a match, and I'm wondering if you could play that up (fatten up the tire just a bit, etc.)? It so clear, that I figure you must have been considering something along those lines from the get go...

That first burst of flame is what I was looking for @Michael. :D
went with the thinner speed bike tire, but graphically, might be a bit too thin.
