@Bob Schultz I would have liked to seen the fleur de lis incorporated like Fraser's. I guess it was an "expected" execution. I think @Fraser Davidson hangs the moon too! LOL!
@Matt Walker@Erin Potter A few thoughts. I made quite a few logos for the Wolves, so I understand the narrative they were looking to achieve, just not really feeling the name. As far as technical chops/specs it's pretty solid. Secondary NOLA mark is pretty striking. Would do you think Matt?
threw a tweet over to @Ben Barnes with apologies for using "shite" to describe his execution on the Pelicans identity. should have been more constructive in my opinions. that is all.
Jon's right. I don't think that's what Dribbble is intended for, but it is what it is. The sad part is that the original fleur de lis mark was a full bird. It was very similar in concept to Fraser's. I don't have any insight as to why it was changed, though.

I think Mr. Davidson's approach is SOOOOO much better than this shite.

I disagree, Erin.

@Matt Walker had a link to their "announcement" video and this was at the end of the clip.

FWIW, I think this is one of the nicest pro logos we've seen in awhile.

@Matt Walker sure beats the shit out of the lame-ass Brooklyn Nets catastrophe. that one could have been so much more.

Yeah, as a Nets fan, that one hurts because I end up wearing it :)

I think it looks OK but from this perspective it reminds me of a stork rather than pelican.

Cool work Erin! Love it.

@Dreamix Studio thanks, but this is not my work. I just posted it to start a small, informal debate.

The color combo reminds me too much of the Atlanta Hawks.

Hey guys, I was the designer on this project. For what it's worth, I also think Davidson's logos look great. http://dribbble.com/shots/911727-New-Orleans-Pelicans

@Erin Potter No harm no foul.

Shouldn't this have not been posted, as it isn't your work?

@Jon Rohlf work from other designers is posted on Dribbble, all the time, for "critique" and opinion. I never claimed it was my work.
