I'm fairly certain that visiting any place that drops below 0°F is the worst decision I would ever make but updating the new http://visitcrestedbutte.com at least has me thinking about the possibility of it.
Had the opportunity to update an 11+ year old brand and (highly trafficked) website recently and thoroughly enjoyed the process. Goals included simplifying a few things and re-presenting them for what they are, a vibrant little ski town with some killer views and crazy characters.
Attaching a full version of the new home page as well as one of the old for posterity and humor's sake.

Great work, Christian!
Only thought: On the inside page sidebar, is it worth showing the text beside the icon on hover? Some people might not know what each icon leads to.
Very nice work, really like the use of the diagonal lines.
I have to say though I was rather confused whilst the .gif was loading…
@Nol Franklin Appreciate it sir, good thoughts on the sidebar hover stuff. Will walk them through some ideas on it and get their feedback on how they want to proceed. Without rebuilding the entire back-end, we were pretty limited in what we could do on the interior pages.
@Chris Radford Ha, yeah, realized after it was published that the card on the main overview screens here won't show the animation, the animated gif might not have been the best option but I was a little bored of trying to crop a large screen down to 400*300 to catch attention.
