    I went with an organic blood spatter to contrast with the too-perfect vector lines.

    These are actually vectors based on Trigun's original comic art by Yasuhiro Nightow. It was a touching illustration of the two leading characters, sitting on a couch after one of them, erm, no spoilers! Sorry!
