Okay, so I thought this felt like a copout but the more I look at it I think it serves all the purpose it needs to. Underline, and outlining the negative S. Yes?

Did you try inverting this, with the P being the negative space and the S being positive?

this is better. but the left side of the bottom white part might need to contour to the S better. all the other white parts help form the shape of the S but that last bit on the left side dosent seem to quite fit. especially if you think of that bottom part as a drop shadow of the S
