does it have the feel of floating on air?
To me, yes! Cool.
Sure does, Mike. It plays a nice little trick on the mind.
It does! Curious how it would look with the string wisping from a light breeze. The rigid line can appear like a stand at first glance.
That said, I could be looking to hard.
Actually... I don't feel it. The angle of the block looks like it's floating laterally. The string suggests it's more of a balloon kind of thing with a slight pull directly upwards. Those two don't seem to match for me because the top of the block angles away from where the string is tied. A balloon wouldn't tilt to the side like that. I'd like to see the block look more upright as if all of its mass is directly contradicting gravity.
I love the concept and the title of this shot!
oh yes it does :) nice one!
Great motif! Perfect for a shirt...
I agree with @Keith Frawley, if the string was at a slight angle so the 'base' of the string was nudged to the left slightly, it would give a more 'drifty' feel.
Good comments, and also perhaps adding a very light and diffused shadow beneath the brick (on the ground) would help separate it from the background.

was going through some older designs and thought I would revise this one a bit with help from the comments I had gotten.
I thought suggestion of the subtle curve to the string gave it a more light and floating feel.
