First off a BIG thank you to Tom Loots (http://dribbble.com/TomLoots) for drafting me to Dribbble! Be sure to check out his work! Very much appreciated man! :D
This is a logo done for a new search and rescue organization starting up in my hometown of Vancouver BC. The Lower Mainland has a ton of back country search and rescue groups but until now lacked one specifically trained for urban environments. My client wanted this distinction apparent in the design. This logo has been made to sit atop backgrounds of red, blue and gray.

Nice first shot! And again, welcome here!
Love that shadow gradient behind the buildings. Everything is very well-drawn and designed. But why is the cross so far below everything else?
Great job, and welcome!
Welcome @Kevin McCarthy !
Thanks Matt! I thought putting the cross there would give it a bit of a luxury feel. I also couldn't seem to integrate it into the logo elegantly enough. ^__^;
nice, welcome! :)
amazing shot! Welcome to the game :D
Cool shot, welcome to the game!
They way the shadow makes the buildings stand out is really nice. I also like the way the rope looks. Nice work Kevin. Welcome!
That looks great! Welcome to our community.
welcome to dribbble
Nice first shot man, welcome!
Welcome Kevin. Great work! Love the read.
Great logo & cool club to design one for. I love the + could be nice replacing the "&" between Search Rescue with the "+" .. dual concept

Vancouver Search & Rescue (formally VISAR) has officially become a non-profit organization. To commemorate the occasion its founder wanted a new logo in a similar vein to other local SAR groups.
(this is NOT the final logo, but my favourite version, the final will have a dark blue outline instead of deep red)
