The polar bear is one of the most beautiful (and endangered) creatures in the world and the subject of the second cut paper collage illustration for my 'Then There Were None' personal project (and the star of the first book that we'll be releasing through the project too).
White creatures can be quite tricky when working in traditional cut paper collage - I find getting subtle tones of white and different colour whites to work together is quite a challenge and something I'm always striving to improve on. The polar bear book should give me lots of practice though I guess!

@Jonathan Woodward love it :) your work is wonderful
Gorgeous work as always Jonathan!
What a lovely looking polar bear. Have you seen the polar bear documentary on the BBC? If not, you should. It's still on iPlayer:
Very impressive cut paper work! The layering and the shadowing are spot on :)
This is great! Really like the style you went with here...
Thanks very much for all the kind comments guys :)
@Eva-Lotta Lamm - I'm based in the UK so luckily managed to see all three episodes as they went out (recorded them too :) - thanks for the link though anyway. I was originally planning for the bear in my book to be a grizzly, but after watching 'The Polar Bear Family & Me' series, decided it had to be a polar bear :)
My favourite animal! Beautifully collaged Jonathan, I like how some of the tones are so subtle.
