Being that it's a new year, and being bored with my old style (so 2012!).
I decided to explore a simple, straight forward re-brand.
The Project this shot is attached to shows all the different things I've tried for my portfolio/site. But as everyone knows out there, it's so hard to decide on a final design, especially when it's a personal project.
Any feedback is welcomed! Happy 2013!

Are the bars on the bottom intentional?
@Chris Wallace! — yeah, my register colors. :)
What are "register colors?" Not familiar with that terminology. Sorry for all the questions.
@Chris Wallace! in other words color Palette, bellow it I have my cmyk colors, and such for when I send stuff to the printers.
Cool. What's it for? Just for fun? Or are you doing some freelance work?
Not bad, but maybe a bit too simple? Have you tried sketching out many attempts at a 'J'? It's a cool letter to work with.
@Sean Farrell — Yeah, was trying to do the JA thing. But simplest thing I could come up with was using three squares to build the stem + one block for the tail.
Jones logo' tail on the J is a little longer. What are your thoughts if I run with it?
@ali yeah currently is exploration of a flat/simplistic style.
I've always done the J/A thing. Wanted yo generalize yo just using the J
This looks like a minimalist reduction of Adidas logo. There was also a design agency called "(Something) Factory" and it basically had a logo of 3 or 4 short bars followed by a tall one.
All in all, as much as I like concise and minimal logos, I think this one is a bit too minimalist to be distinct and memorable.
by Juan Arreguin
After some more sketching, I decided to bring in the J + A together, since everywhere I create an account I always do "JuanArreguin."
Very simple: Two bars + 2 half circles.
