COLOR EXPLOSION! :D
I like the general direction of this, as far as a fun challenge and everything.
I personally would try slightly desaturating everything... I know you're going for fun, but this red and green may be a little blinding after a while...
Also, may be worth it to try some other color on the slider... it's always gonna be touching the green part of the gauge, so it pretty much merges with it, which kinda kills the effect of dimension. Maybe play with that gradient a little bit as well...
