I am creating a university major project using Dribbbles API. The name off my project is hoops it a competition site for dribbble. This is the early stages and I am unsure about using the basketball icon. Give me your thoughts.

Looks real nice Chris, just feel like maybe the basketball should have the same kind of bevel as the lettering maybe?

Man looks sweet, think you made the right choice in the end with the name. Maybe try it with the dribbble pink, and add another "o" in to see what thats like.
Yeah @Michael Bole has it spot on, needs the depth on the ball as well, maybe just round the outside of the circle, not the intricate parts :)
