I really dig this Nick, but my gut reaction is there may be one or two many things going on here. The C/film canister is fantastic, but busy. Also, how does it scale down? It seems a bit thin.
"Capture" is solid. Nothing to change there. But what if you tucked "Film CO" up closer to the Capture, maybe just under and to the right of the P? Also, in relation to everything else, Film Co (to me) appears to be the heaviest thing here. Could you smooth that hierarchy out a bit more?
@Forms&Shapes Thanks Peter. Solid feedback. I'm with you on it too, I think there is too much going on. I did some other identity exercises where I pulled the elements apart and I think that might be the way to go. The Capture logotype may be strong enough to hold its own without the film reel icon and Film Co isn't necessarily a mandatory element so I might ditch that as well.
@Nick Brue More than welcome! Before you completely get rid of the film reel canister, what if you turned it into something more like film going through a projector (something to give a little more 'motion' to the logo')?
My wife just told me that she thinks this is the ugliest thing I've ever done. Thinking about throwing in the towel on this whole "design career" thing.

I really like it, but the first thing I saw was a Lemon.

@Pedale Design Then you get it!
jk. Totally looks like a lemon. Maybe I should change the background color to orange. Wait...

I'd be careful to avoid association with a revolver, perhaps a little less rounded corners would help this.

Good stuff. Logotype is a bit dominating and definitely could stand alone. I do like the mark though. Perhaps use them separate of one another?

@Anthony Lane Thanks Tony. I think that using them separately is going to be the way to go.

I dig the mark. I think its getting a little complex, though. Mainly that little part where the "film" comes around the reel at the bottom.
The type is overpowering the mark right now. Possibly a different lock-up could help with that?
I saw pizza at first, maybe thats because I'm hungry, though.
I am really digging it so far.

My gut tells me no... But my gut is also very hungry...
Thanks for the feedback. Now go eat some pizza already.

Forgot to mention that Capture makes Lemon Pizzas in addition to making videos.

Don't give up just yet :-) This is an awesome direction. Agree with lots of comments above. but "Capture" is so good. I'd hate to see it go.
