I would explore more in the direction of #2. There's so much more personality there. To me it just feels out of balance within the circle and I don't see any problems with the mark itself.
#1 for me. The top of the M looks like it has arrows (or chevrons, if you will) that point down. There's so much more you could do with that, especially if you start thinking of motion graphics.
Sure! No problem... Next time I'm down in JoMo we should meet up, chat design and get our geek on. Just discovered Instant Karma, it's worth another visit. Keep up the great work! ;-)
Mostly just a comment, not a choice either way: #2 looks more super hero, which I dig. I think Bryan has a great point with the chevron thing. Versatile!

I spent a little bit of the break working on a new personal monogram in preparation for getting my portfolio put together.
These are the two I landed on. Like one better than the other?

#1 has a good feel to it. #2 seems out of balance. It makes me nervous.

@Joshua Blankenship I feel ya with #2. It still needs some refinement. Thanks for the feedback.

I like numero uno. Reinforces my jealousy of people who have symmetrical initials.

I love #2, it feels more positive - moving forward vide. where #1 is heavier with a downward direction.

#1 works better now, but #2 has more personality and better potential (at least in my eyes, and Matthew's :)
