A concept I've had rolling around in my head for a while. I'll probably use it during uploads and when users publish/save their pages.

Really cool, loading animations like these can really spice up a UI and make it more friendly, authentic and fun. Very curious to know how you made this gif. Did you make the franes/states seperately, of with some sort of transform or mask?
Hahah! Cool, I love it! :))
@Yummygum I made the initial vector shape animate in flash and then I exported it as a sequence of PNG files. Then I brought it into photoshop and applied effects to each frame. There might be a better way to do it but that's what I did.
@Steve Testone wow sounds like a lot of work, though I wouldn't know any other way. But the result is really good :)
@Steve Testone LOL! Naughty!
It make's me smile :D
wow man the volumes look so great ! how did you do it? after effects ?

This is an awesome animation.
Have you thought of making the clouds grow larger as a percentage of the upload/download completed? Would be kind of cool.
Very good work!

@Boltforge Thanks! Yeah that would be a cool effect, but it might be a bit tricky programmatically. I guess you could just have a bunch of these at different sizes and swap them out as the progress changes.
Yeah, I was thinking if you did exactly what you did above, but just make it get larger as it progresses? Good stuff though.
