Hope everyone had an awesome Christmas.
Ended up playing around with this after leaving my food coma.
As usual, all feedback appreciated.

This is a really cool concept and I also love the colors you used. I think you just have to work on your alignment. Your icons/tool-tip triangle on the dropdown needs to be centered. The squares that the icons are in, are not equal in width/height. I'd try making the inner glow on your search/drop down section lighter.
Love the idea though and again, the colors and icons are awesome. Great job.
Thanks Cat :)
It was offset originally as I had another drop down for the search bar text (an autocomplete style idea) that I got rid of in favour of simplicity. I agree though I should in future reaccess the alignment.
Really cute, man! :)
I used a different approach when user hover/click on search options & I align the drop-down horizontally.

This is a late rebound I've decided to make days ago. I finally found the time tonight to give shapes to these ideas... Thx @jamiesyke for this input.

Very pretty! My only critique - search should be intelligent enough to know what we want! The onus shouldn't be on the user to tell the system it want's a map - if they're entering an address it should just know!
Very clever search concept, would love to see this in action.
