So I was thumbing thru some of my earlier shots - thought it would be fun to see what I could do to remake this logo for BigDog Poker. Here is my sketch - i would love to go more sports logo with it in the final .Ai stages hoping to get some great feedback from some of my sports logo buddies, you know who you are!! Either way I have come a long way since the original version, and as always comments & feedback are most appreciated!
Lovin' this concept! Having the cards form a mohawk on the dog? It looks awesome and it adds such an awesome amount of appropriate attitude! My only real criticism is to watch the muzzle shape of the dog, because it's starting to look a little less bully-breed like, and little more like the shape of Pluto's muzzle. I think shortening it a little and making it more broad/square and powerful looking might even further the fierce look he has. ... Either way, though, I love this! :D Can't wait to see it progress!
@Brittani Franco & @Dave Turton I hear you both on making the jaw/snout more powerful - any suggestions on what type of dog to use for inspiration? Def will shorten snout a tad bit. Thanks for the feedback y'all!
@Dave Turton You are a BOSS sir! I love your work btw. And I think you have it backwards bro - my dog has NOTHING on yours...wow. But I dig what you are saying - push snout back, less mouth - a bit more squared jaw??

This one is much better than the previous version. Especially the four aces forming a mohawk haircut is a very cool idea. Great work!

Very cool, I guess the fact that the dog kinda resembles you is a coincidence?.... :)

I'm loving the illustration, the card mohawk is a really nice touch. Great job on the type too. I'm looking forward to seeing this as it develops.

@Mike Jones The card mohawk is genius. The only thing I would adjust is his jaw strength. Power it up there I think you're golden.

@Mike Jones My dog has nothing on yours but here's what I mean. Mine is a bit more rounded than I would like but I did this quite a while back. But if you give it some thickness and square it off it might work. Beyond that I still think it's killer even if you didn't mess with it any more. http://www.istockphoto.com/stock-illustration-4733189-pitbull-bodybuilder.php?st=9231958
