Concept two of yesterdays shot for ManagePlaces. Tasks in a certain project are colour coordinated to show their priority, i.e. red for high priority, green for low priority.
Would love constructive feedback on this, and would also be interesting to hear whether you prefer this version over concept one!
Definitely love this one. Just the right amount of styling, which is important for task apps in my opinion.
One thing I have always loved/hated about task apps is the option to add notes, almost allowing the user to create " micro tasks" within a task as if it were named as a group. What could be cool is if you expanded the color palette just for the titles of tasks so they could be labeled as a group (or something similar). This screen could be the list of tasks for Group A (Red) for example.
Just a thought 😊
Looks really good man, keep it up!
Thanks @Russell Schofield. That is kind of already the case - tasks are separated by projects which are based on locations (you can learn more at ManagePlaces.com. The coloured titles are for priority but thinking of making them all the same colour and using a left colour band like in concept 1. Thanks for all your feedback :)
@Shane Jeffers Thanks Shane! Nope, no marking as complete from this screen. It's a slightly more complex tasks app - not like others! It's all location based, too. :)
Looks nice! I like the flat look. My 2¢: Since you know the max. width of the “Due” field, maybe the screen would appear a bit “tidier” if you aligned the “Status” fields vertically so that they are always on top of each other…
@Callum Chapman I didn't put 2 and 2 together! I love it! How will you show priority within a specific project? Red is urgent, yellow not as urgent etc.? Will that be different than project color identification?
@Russell Schofield I don't think we'll have colours for each project as there could be lots of them at any one time. But correct on the priority... red urgent, yellow/orange/amber for somewhere in the middle and green for not urgent. I think these colours work well considering we're all familiar with this system with traffic lights!
We decided to go for a blue version of concept two. Users can change the order of the list by tapping the sort icon to reveal the sort icons. Would love to hear your feedback on this. You can also follow me on Twitter.

Man that's a tough one. I think this one has more character. The other one reminds me of other task apps, but this one stands out more in my opinion.
Are you supposed to be able to "complete" a task from this screen? If so I think it needs some type of call to action to make it complete.
