    Hey @Mike Jones, I created a set of basic serif letters that would be easy to make look 'beveled.' Then I split them in half, for that bevelly look. Then it was just a matter of turning the different shades into clipping masks in Ai, making the diagonal lines different weights, and isolating each separate area. It looks like this when it's all done. http://d.pr/i/hWn6

    To get this look you see here, I took it into photoshop and basically screwed with it until it looked just messy enough. ...and that's it! Hope that helped.
