Not sure how complimentary the eyelashes are for the women, as they look like crows feet :s
Would they not look more flattering connected to the eyes or even altering the eye shape?

@Sharon Milne I've tried a couple of different ways for the eyelashes but I thought this looked best. I don't really think they look like crow's feet, but I could have just been staring at them too long! Anyone else see crow's feet?

Total fan of your work - these are GREAT. But the eyelashes cause the girls to look less pretty than they would otherwise.
(Although I TOTALLY understand going for the consistent eye shape. Difficult problem to solve, and the crows feet eyelashes may be the best solution without actually connecting or changing eye shape.)

The women sorta look like dudes. The jaws are too squared. The general style is cool though.

It's interesting some of the responses I have been getting when showing it around. About half the women and men I show it to say it looks good. They think the avatars represent real people, and because of that, they don't want the women avatars to look more sexy or pretty.
The other half don't agree, they want to make the women more pretty. They want to see bigger pouty lips, skinnier faces, bigger eyes, makeup.
The project really calls for a more everyday look rather than a done up look so I'm going to stick with what I have. I still think I need to make some small tweaks like @Jake Fleming suggested with the softening of the jaw line. I know the eyelashes are divisive but I'm sticking with them.

You are aware men have eyelashes too? To highlight them on women implies they are wearing mascara, thus as "done up" ;)

For some reason, seeing all these together makes me think of Chris Ware. These could all be characters in Jimmy Corrigan's universe.
