Really nice work. Much more warm and personal that what is currently there. I would've been much more likely to give the service a try with this design. The colors and illustrations give a personal-ness that you rarely find in the recruiting world, so it makes me go, "whoa, ok, these guys might be different".

What's there now on the website is nice and clean, but it's cold. It has a very industrial design feel to it, like it's a product promo site for something.

I agree with Alex and Liam; now that I've been to the actual site, this one is a lot more appealing and straight-forward. The current layout has too much whitespace and looks like too many other sites out there to be memorable.

Thanks for the comment @Mandy McClausky :)

It's an interesting point you make, I personally think I do prefer this (red) version to what we have there now too.

But, the goal is to appeal to developers and encourage sign-ups, so the more 'standard' look seems to be working for Pitchbox.

Interestingly that more standard look, with a large full width image at the top (normally with a hand holding a mobile device!) is a real trend at the moment, which maybe is being over done.
