A new look for a friend's photography portfolio. He wanted a side-scrolling site that allowed his photos to be larger. See the attachment for full size.
You should have talked your friend out of side-scrolling ;) Users HATE that! Check out http://www.nngroup.com and Nielsen's frequent findings on just how poorly side-scrolling is received, even to this day (despite tablets, Magic Mice, etc.).
The design is really nice. Spartan and very crisp :)
I know... what's up with that? Nearly every photographer site I've seen employs it. I guess maybe it's the way they work. Lay out their prints side by side and scan through them. They think that's how their portfolios should be. Gotta be it ;)
