Interested in all feedback - especially about the player logic. Personally I'm not a fan of how the player controls are in two separate locations (on top of the album and in the playbar). Needs some editing.
Well done man. I really dig the live pixels. I think the progress bar could be a tad lighter. Love the font choices too. And great color scheme. My favorite part about this is the live equalizer/thingy.
Also - firefox users - are you seeing all the @font-face and SVG stuff looking uber-bold? I wish FF supported a font-smoothing property. Their antialiasing is wack.
Hey Adam, as a Clevenalder I think this is a solid direction. I didn't pick up on the albums being playable. I clicked with the assumption more info would be the result. The Discover call to action may have been what prompted my assumption since discover doesn't necessarily mean to listen. Something more obvious to prompt listening maybe. Once the player UI is visible, it's impressive, but I agree, the separate control locations needs some editing. Good work.
A bit of backstory on play-button discoverability:
I created an icon font for all the imagery and became stubborn about sticking to it, which didn't work well for large play buttons on top of the album covers; they need two colors to be consistently distinguishable from the artwork. So, I compromised and put tiny play buttons beneath the artwork.
But you're right about it being hard to discover. A big play button on top of each album cover would solve that problem. That's what I'll try next.

Thanks Derrick. Yea, the progress bar is super subtle. Agreed it should be lighter.
Do you think the albums look playable?

It's a tiny progress bar. Check out the live version to see what I mean. Maybe that should just be removed?

The demo is really great. The bars moving when you play a song is genius.

Spot on, Garrett.

I see. Big play button seems like a good next move. Nice choice with the icon font.
