@Bill S Kenney I dig the lighter photo and hero section - it feels friendlier and more inviting.
I have to be honest though, knowing what you dudes at focus labs are capable of, this design feels a bit "cookie cutter." You could throw any logo or business into this and it would work.
Where's the custom, hand-crafted, detail oriented love you guys are so good at?!
Hopefully this is helpful. I know you guys can do better.
@Eric understood, thanks for the comment and this is def a work in progress. With the full context of the rest of the page it will have the right feel. Not to mention we can only spin so many crazy ideas into every project when there are some specific concrete goals and content strategy in play.
Not to mention some of the interactions on the page will set it apart as well. The transitions and movement of items on scroll and rollover.
@Bill S Kenney I know exactly where you are coming from :)
Sometimes it's hard to get the feel from a Dribbble shot, I know a lot of the details will happen with the interaction and experience of actually using and interacting with the site.
To refine my earlier comment, I think the piece that I'm not getting is the brand distinction. I'm sure this will be refined with additional sections and iterations. Looking forward to seeing this progress!
Is there some kind of pattern showing through that noise on the left and right ends of the page? Feels pretty good. I've been getting into this heavy noise style lately.
@Bill S Kenney I like it! It's all in the details, right? Something here, something there... then when you take a step back it's a polished work that feels good - almost real - and something you're proud of.

I Like that the background image is not totally blurred, so props for that. It helps balance out the weight of the top image and copy.

Using Invision right now. Hopefully when this version launches it'll be less clunky.

Awesome use of depth of field for the photography. Blurry backgrounds seem to be a dime a dozen...awesome job team!

@Bill S Kenney Did you add noise and cross-hatching to the background around the guy? Looks sweet regardless.

@Andrew Conn I sure did.

I love how the photo fades to white and how the menu is placed perfectly. Very nice.

The pic looks a bit ominous. May be because of the grey brush which helps the writing stand out. Donno. Looks a bit dirtyish

The colors seem over-saturated or too vibrant and becomes harder on the eyes with the lighter background. The last version was much more comfortable!
Hopefully you guys revert to the previous design :)

Like Andrew said, the noise really polishes it off. Great work.
