@Neil Tasker Suppppper easy man... It almost feels like cheating. you make one line or object... then duplicate that line or object and position it where you want it to end. select both and then go to object > blend > make. after that you can edit how it looks by going to object > blend > blending options. may have to mess around with it some but you can do some pretty cool patterns/fades. I don't know if this made any since at all but ya there ya go.
