Bottom reads more as 9D, so it depends on what this is for...

Top. Kinda looks like a DNA double helix.

Depends on the look you're going for.
Top feels more modern, bottom feels more classical.
If it's for a logo the overall thicker lines on the top one would probably make it look better at different sizes when printed.
    Both look good :)

Love them both. Same feedback as everyone else - depends on what you're using it for... which isn't very helpful at this point I guess ;) Personally I'm leaning toward the top.

There's more letterplay happening in the top one, so there's a little more visual interest there, in my opinion. Both are solid.

I agree with @Elliot top is something different/modern, bottom feels more classic.

Seems like a visual concept is trying to come through the type on the top option, where as the bottom is purely a styled typographic solution. Great sketches, Ryan.

If this is for a logo, I like the top.

I thought exactly the same as @Curt about the top one when I first saw it. As others have said though, it really depends on what these are for. Personally I like them both.

I like the way the bottom looks best, but I think the top is a little more readable. Both look awesome though!
