I've had a little bit of free time recently, mostly due to a client I had signed 3 months of my life to struggling to secure their funds, and therefore quickly ending work 2 months before my contract is up. To make things worse, they owe me and other freelancers thousands of pounds. Legal proceedings start this weekend - fun! I've been a little inactive on Dribbble as I'm not allowed to post the work I've been doing for them.
To fill some of the time I've had free, I've been redesigning parts of Natwest's online banking website. It isn't completely awful at the moment, but it could certainly be better and more modern. It's a site I use almost every day, so I wanted to spruce it up. I plan on showing them the design (somehow?) when I'm done with it.
Here's one of the wireframes I put together for it in my Dotgrid.co dot grid book (shameless plug). The design will follow in the next couple of days so stay tuned - would love to hear your feedback.
Any tips on taking clients to court wouldn't go amiss either, it's my first time!
@Samuel Couto I'm going to try do it alone first of all - it is over the small claims limit. But I don't see how I wouldn't get it, as I have a signed contract which states they'll pay within 7 days of invoice receipt. Unfortunately it has been 64 days! :( Thanks man!
@John Duggan Thanks John! You're 100% right there, I made a mistake and was hoping no one would notice - it's meant to be 'Summary' and 'Account Admin' :)
I've been redesigning part of Natwest's online banking site in my spare time. It's a site I visit most days, and although their current design could be worse, there's a lot of room for improvement. It isn't full width (it's aligned to the left with a big white panel on the right) nor is it fun or responsive... and let's face it, banking needs to be made as fun as possible to make it feel less like a chore!
There are no new feature ideas incorporated into this design, it is purely a fun redesign using a similar layout and colours. I felt it should stay pretty professional considering this is a real-life bank!

Dude, bummed on the client thing =/
You should see this small talk from Mike Monteiro, and obviously get a lawyer.
Keep up the good work!

All the best with legalities, some clients are a nightmare! Make sure you fight for every vet because you earned it.

@Zane David Yep! I really enjoyed working with them too, were very easy going but knew there'd be a catch somewhere!
@Samuel Couto Thanks mate - I will check it out :)
@Matej Latin Thanks Matej! I actually design, make and sell them with my uncle! You can buy them from Dotgrid.co. :)

Never seen such a clean wireframe! Probably because the only wireframes I ever look at are my own.
If I may nitpick, it seems having 'Summary' and 'Account Summary' in the same nav would be confusing to some. Maybe not though.

Would love to hear your feedback, especially those of you who bank with Natwest! You can view retina pixels and the wireframe I put together prior to designing this.
