My try at designing the iTunes icon for fun.

    What do you dribbblers think?

Not a huge fan of the lens flare in all honesty. =/

    Damn :(

Are you not a fan of that idea at all or just my execution?

Shines on the outside would be fine, but the obvious lens flare isn't for me. ;)

The music note should be larger.

    Aight. :)

Noted. I'll probably be doing a rebound of this soon as this was done too quickly, so thanks for your comments :)

The note is also not aligned optically. It looks too far to the right.

Another idea, I noticed you have a grid in the background. I wonder what it would look like if they were tiny album covers, like the iTunes screen saver. Probably sounds better in my head than it would look, but it's something no one else has considered before.

It's lacking some polishing I hate to say. The metal band on the outside seems too flat, the music note is oddly shifted to the right, and that lens flare is not very appealing.

I like the concept, it just needs some work. I also agree with the above statement that the note could be larger.

This one is actually the only one, out of those popping out here recently, that actually is better than the official iTunes 11 icon. Although, I do agree with @Steve Grenier about making the symbol larger and positioning it a bit more to the left in order to balance it visually.
