    It dawned on me that a conventional way of dropping critical error messages on an unsuspecting user is not a very good idea. Being on the receiving end of "BAM! Crashed!" is never a pleasant experience.

    So I thought I'd try and humanize it a bit. Prep the stage and soften the impact. Not sure if it's going to improve things for everyone, but it won't hurt either.
