Started today on a new contract. Exciting work, but I'll have to get creative about how I dribbble it. More non-revealing zoomed-in shots may follow this one.

My first thought was "ooo, Dan's using HTML/CSS for his legal agreements now!" but then I realized you meant a client project ;)

This idea of 'non-revealing' shots is a problem with dribbble — I'd love to be able to mark certain shots as 'friends only, don't share' or something like that...

@Shaun, doesn't that kind of contradict what dribbble is all about? If you want to keep it within friends then IM them.

Not really. If you IM'd it to them it would be really intrusive and you'd have to do it for each person. If you could friends only it, for example, then people could stumble upon it if they had a spare minute. Makes sense to me.

At first glance, this looked like you built all the shadows in CSS, all pixelated. I'm probably just still thinking 'huge pixels' from the simplebits background. Looking forward to more teases.

I honestly believe that if dribbble went all friends only, then we would end up with this so called clique that people talk about - the fact that I can see what Dan does, as well as the likes of Veerle, Jina Bolton, Meagan and so on, it gives me the opportunity to learn from skilled designers.

Also having these people comment so kindly on your designs is also a boost in your own personal development in this industry.

if it's to be private, don't display it. Simple as that, if you need a friend to look at it, then email them. Simple as that.

The second Dribbble becomes a closed book is the same second I lose interest.

What if you could select portions of an image to be blurred out, the images would have a blur applied server side...

I think a private section would be fine, especially if you could not only mark "Friends" but also drill down and select specific people. This would be useful and negate the need for AIM/Email communications.

@Dustin - You would be better off just blurring it before you upload. While I know the developers of Dribbble would not leak info, the raw image would still be out there, which is NOT a good idea, especially if bound by an NDA.
