I'm working on this new cute character, adding volume to it's hair proves to be the most challenging part so far :) It's just work in progress and I plan to improve some parts (ears, tail, paws).
hehe not scary at all rather cute creature :),yeah fur wil be sweet when finished also add few notches of shadow under armpits and around stoamch to give it more depth with slughtly darker fur, also when ua dd slight touch of sub surface scattering to the ears its wip and as ussual u gonna rock it :)
In my personal opinion, I think the eyes are way too open and is giving him a scarier/crazier look than a cute one, but I'm not sure if that's what you are going after. The fur could really have a more contrasty shading too. I hope that's helpful :)
Looks good! As far as adding volume, I'd suggest getting a brush that lets you paint multiple, thin hairs at once [like this one] and just going over the shadows and adding lots of subtle detail. You can get away with quick brush strokes on most of it so long as you have the detailed hair where it counts :)
I'd also fix the shading on the nose, right now it looks far too cartoony to match the rest of the scene. The claws and teeth look good, the bamboo and ears are good but look flat without a texture and more defined shading.
Facial expression's are really tricky to do... this one looks slightly more "fearful" than cute. Look at "shy" on this; you want it to be more like "grin" or "innocent", I think. Still, I'm no expert on expressions, and it looks pretty good already
I think it's really good actually. Others have made some good points... for me, I think it would be less scary if you didn't see so much of it's gums.
Looking at your sketch, it seems less scary not seeing the gums of his mouth, which I personally like. But adding the gums is what makes it more on the edge I think.

I like it, but those teeths are too strong for me. Not 3D more like cartoon. But its still like from outerspace!

Looks great so far. That bamboo looks crispy! As mentioned above the tooth should have more depth / 3d'ish touch

Amazing...could you post some video tutorial? Or just record it like a time lapse video so we can see the whole craft :)

I think i prefer the "Lilo & stitch" teeth on the drawing, and how the mouth opens more than the teeth can fill it
