What do you think about this idea for a blog post social area?

I think it's quite heavy / too much visible considering its size and overall design of the blog (clear and light). I like the design itself, just maybe little more light.
Thanks for the input @Claudio Gomboli at first i had in mind a smaller height (50px per line, now each one is 75px), but depending on the post content, for example a post with many photos with dark backgrounds I was afraid it may not get noticed.
I also wanted powerful colors in order to make it stand out and extremely visible. Before going this direction I have used standard fan / social boxes which were light with white backgrounds but i had the feeling that they were way too easy to ignore, so that's why the large size + strong colors.

I don't think there would be any danger of it not being noticed at a smaller height! Agree with @Claudio Gomboli completely. I don't think you need the brand marks at the right hand side. The most important part of each row is the button to like, +1 or subscribe so it would make more sense to me that these be visually more prominent than the icons. You'd almost expect the cal to action to be on the right hand side.
I dig what you're trying to do, but I just checked it out on the site and I wasn't sure if this model were active social widgets or just one large picture that's not clickable.
Creative, but I'm not sure how many people will get it.
Interesting! It's easy to shoot this down because it stands out too much and draws too much attention. However, if that's what is needed to increase conversion, I can see that it could be doing its job just fine.
@Ted Goas has a point though. The buttons may have been worked into the images so well that they don't seem clickable. And people are so trained in ignoring banner ads that they might do the same with these banner shaped graphics.
Have you seen any notable increases in likes/follows/etc? Would be good to test a few versions if you're serious about optimizing conversion.

I am really not sure if this is the best option, indeed because it's large it can be ignored as it looks like ads, some other mentioned this point too. Also indeed, good point about the images not having actions on them, I have implemented the original codes for the buttons, the images are just backgrounds, but I got your point. About being heavy on the left with the large logos, you may also be right. I will consider all of these points and will try another version if I see this wound't make an important difference.

PS. Do you have some good working examples of social call to action banners that convert well?
they are nice, but perhaps they dominate visually, maybe its the t shirts that should be out in front?

@Alex Tass I actually get it completely and really like it. To me there is no confusion really.
@Chris The only way not to break the twitter guidelines is to have the logo in plain blue or white, by itself with nothing else and adequate space around it. Twitter cannot seriously believe people are going to obey those guidelines. Pretty much 99% of custom twitter buttons are 'banned then.' However, officially you are correct.
This is true, It's something that get become an issue further down the line, but these look pretty good so i wouldn't let Twitter put you off
