I would like to invite everyone to get involved with my canals project!
Hopefully some of you would like to contribute to this!
If you haven't seen any of my other shots, i'm basically branding the canals in England. ( You don't have to be from England to contribute! ) Just remember that these babies are old, so the logo should portray this!
What do i need from you?
1. Choose a canal from the list below.
2. Design a logo for it. ( old style, single colour )
3. Rebound the said logo to this shot. (show it how you like!)
4. Email me a vector. ( hello@ollysorsby.co.uk )
You can find the list of canals here.
Obviously you will be credited, which i will sort out when they are all completed and i produce some sort of online archive.
I look forward to seeing your contributions!

Regent's Canal GIF

Here's a couple of stabs at @Olly Sorsby's Canal Playoff for Regent's Canal. Both could still do with some refinement but here's my progress so far. Would love some feedback!
The lightning bolt in the first is based on the canal water being circulated as a coolant for the high-voltage cables in the National Grid. The typeface used is Sweet Sans.
The second uses Akzidenz Grotesk Condensed & Gill Sans.

Stourbridge Canal

This is my contribution to Olly's canal branding project.
I grew up in Stourbridge in the Black Country so named because of it's huge part in the industrial revolution. An American writer Elihu Burritt visited the area in 1862 and because of constant fire of the furnaces and smoke from the chimneys he described it as "black by day and red by night".
A major landmark on the canal is the Red House Cone, part of the famous glass works.
I hadn't thought about it in a while but while doing this I remembered I've had a lot of memories round the canal. My mum and I walked the dogs down there on a sunday, I used to meet me first proper girlfriend by a bench along the canal and my best friend got married in a converted warehouse beside it. So thanks Olly for getting me involved and down memory lane!

Here is my addition to this fun Canal Branding playoff by @Olly Sorsby Hope y'all dig it. I am not from England, nor have I ever been there (love to visit someday) so I had to do a bit of research on this canal. I chose it 'cause I thought it had a cool name and I loved the start date (1826) which makes sense if you know my handle. Anyway fun exercise & as always comments & feedback most welcome. Just hop on board and pick out a canal & add to the mix!!
