Delicious!! especially melted butter is very good.
I prefer "no lens flare", since the scorch of the toast can be more clearly seen. Although toast is drawn finely, "lens flare" is conspicuous too much.
@Ilie Ciorba My tablet and a bunch of brushpacks. I sat there with icon in one window and photo in the other and just sat there repainting it. The actual icon is incredibly sloppy [made in an hour], but it's so filtered and downscaled that you can't really tell :P
@Vincent I guess so? A grill or the inside of a toaster or something.
@wakaba@Gert Jan Lodder | Pixellod| Pixellod|@Gert Jan Lodder | Pixellod The shot was not intended to be a "good" piece of art, it was intended to be a parody of the shots that end up on the front page, like this or this or this. Things like the lens flare, the rainbow color tinting, the sharpen and sparkle filters, were all intended to parody dribbble's love for "hyper-realistic" stuff that uses many filters.
Of course, the icon would look better without any of these filters. The lens flare is the most obvious bit of silliness, but the depth of field and rainbow color tinting are also unnecessary and detracting.
The entire shot was made in about an hour, not to get likes but to make a lighthearted joke about what dribbble loves. So, it's sloppy, and there are a lot of elements thrown in just to be silly rather than to actually make things look nice. That said, I'm glad you guys like it so much ;)
