Starting on paper, is a preference, not a must.

I don't sketch on paper anymore. Never. And I'm doing ok, I think.

@Emir Ayouni way to bust my balls bro! lol! Fair enough there are some fantastic designers that dont sketch - you, & @Fraser Davidson for example - so you are definitely correct - it is a personal preference. word ;)

@Mike buddy, haha! Not my intention to bust your balls! Just wanted to give my opinion on that :D A lot of people say it's like "a rule", but I just disagree on that.

Anytime dude. For the anvil/border, if you lose the perspective on the anvil or conversely, add perspective to the border. Might need to go straight on with the perspective instead of to the side like the current version.

@David Stewart cool, I hear ya bro. So say I want to keep the anvil as I have it now - any suggestions for making the border match?? thx again for the feedback.

I just got a new Cintiq tablet so I took the opportunity to play around with it and mock something up. It's not a rebound, just a hastily drawn sketch.

The angle is too exaggerated (illustrated by the Lion's brown-eye wink) but you get the idea. If you match the angle of your border to the anvil, it might work.

Might want to reverse the direction though. It will work better on a left to right orientation. Letterhead, envelope, web site, etc. However, my sketch is way too exaggerated. Your angle will work fine.
