    I like that the angle of the y is less italicized which matches the other letters better. Also like that the D seems to have a fuller curve, which is angled slightly less downward than the original. Makes it seem happier to me; not so much like that furrowed brow shape. Subliminal touch?

    Quite similar to Disney's current logo. They revamped it a few years back. I think that their logo as of right now is current and yet resembles enough of their past that it doesn't need to be changed. On that note, your rendition is decent, still prefer theirs.
