Churned this out this afternoon, no references.
I think subconsciously I was inspired by Alphonse Elric (as a suit of armour) in Fullmetal Alchemist, and my Mech 03 digital painting.
I used a wonderful drawing app called Alchemy to get the base down, and do get a spontaneous placement of screws, bevelled areas etc., and to get shapes that I wasn't expecting.
