Hello folks!
I have couple hours free, so I decided to waste them with a non-sense redesign of current youtube homepage, just for fun :)
Hope you'll not hate me for it :) it's one of the last for this year :)

@Andrew Lucas I know, but this is just to visual form, because now, they have it really small, I know it's irrelevant to have there, but it looks much more visual appealing then now and it really stand out :)

@Charlie / TheIssland I'm not doubting the visual appeal that's certainly there. Problem is, scanning the page I read the video lengths and not the titles. Anyway. You did this for fun and I'm not gonna pick at it anymore! Great job.

I hear they're really working on a redesign - a couple of days ago I was browsing through Youtube and the page layout changed radically to something completely new and fresh (but only for a couple of hours), but man - nothing compared to this. This looks awesome.
Bold, plenty of white space, it JUST feels right! Really great job @Charlie ;)

If only. I like having the length on there (it determines whether or not I want to watch it -- or like you said, if it is a legitimate music video), but maybe it could be smaller or only show on :hover.

Very slick. However, I agree that the video length size gets too much real estate. It's much larger than even the video title, which users would scan for first before scanning for the video length of views.
Also, you've darkened the video thumbs quit a bit in order for the video length text to show up clearly. This also inhibits users from quickly & easily scanning videos that they would want to watch.
At any rate, I still like the visuals a lot. Just give it a few more tweaks, and it's almost there.
