    Dash is a 3D artist who uses C4D [I think] to make icons.

    It looks like a render because it is one [primarily, there is probably some post work in PS]. 3D is the best way to get texture and perspective perfect and he is one of the best players on dribbble at 3D work, hence the amazing textures.

    Thanks, @Ollin, that makes sense. If I saw it anywhere else I'd be sure it was a render right away, but on Dribbble it's harder to tell. Some people on here build some jaw-dropping realistic textures just in Photoshop.
