A page for their website. Shouldn't be a surprise as how much it does not look like a website at all since I'm no web designer. Mocked it up in AI since PS always leaves a bad taste in my mouth from using it. (Yeahyeah I know, burn the heretic!)

no way! I have done all my web design in Ai. I even do iOS stuff in illustrator and reserve Photoshop for only the necessities. I can move much faster and iterate way better than I can in Ps.

I can see some usability issues with the layout, but those illustrations are killer! Nice work on the re-brand.

@Nick Sigler @Eric Stanley Thanks dudes!

@Keenan Cummings Really? I've always thought using AI to do web was a big no-no, something to do with pixels or whatever I don't really understand it all. But that's great to hear coz yeah I'm the same, much faster in AI.

@Joshua McCowen Could you share what those issues might be? Would love to hear it and maybe take a crack at fixing them.

Just use pixel preview and snap to grid... it always does the trick for me.

I'm mostly noticing the hierarchy of the content. From this layout, it's hard to tell what the user should focus on first. My assumption is the "Talking about sex" feature, but with the condom area overlapping like it is, my eye is immediately drawn to that area instead.

The color palette, which I love, is also challenging for content flow because there is no "standout" color as reference to where they should look.

Hope that helps a bit. :)

Definitely loving where your design is going (obviously not fond of the organization) but the only concern I have would be your hierarchy. Other than that I like the overall design =)

AI is far superior for web design compared to PS. It's actually mind boggling how much people put themselves through to design in PS. Such a waste of time. Good on you for using Illustrator.

The illustrations are great, but they're overwhelming the content. The thing -- as I'm sure you're aware of working with this brand, but I'll re-iterate as a woman -- about this website is I'm going to be going there in order to get information on things that are probably high-priority and high-stress. Having to then worry about not being able to figure the site out to get that information as soon as I can is troublesome. I don't think PP's homepage needs half of the layout devoted to teaching people how to talk about sex as much as it needs to be devoted to the safety and prevention of things relating to it.

I feel as though the primary navigation is in a good place, but the homepage could be better utilized to show content that you already know through analytics are high-traffic areas. The "Facts On.." area is something I'd emphasize more because a problem PP continually faces is that people don't understand the breadth and depth of their services. They think the purpose is limited and strictly 'progressive'. Show me everything they can do for me right off the bat, because chances are I don't actually know that some locations can double as my primary women's health provider.

If a club ever forms around the concept of using AI over Ps for web design I will certainly join!

Why aren't you guys using Fireworks? It's specifically the AI of web design.

I agree with @Joshua McCowen, I do like it a lot, but there are usability issues. I like what you've done with the layout, it's nice and I don't think you should change it, but it does lack a little hierarchy. For example, I still don't know what featured category belongs to; you need some sort of indication.
