What do you think? Too dark? Hard to read?

I love this. I think -- and maybe this is just my eyes -- that what is throwing me off is the red transition in the background gradient. If it were a darker purple it wouldn't be as distracting. But then it might also look really Heroku-y. I don't think it's hard to read, but I also really like how it looks when everything is selected with your ::selection yellow, and it offers more contrast as well. Maybe offer a way to switch between those two if readability is an issue for people with the purple?

To build on @Mandy McClausky 's point—is purple integral to your identity? If not, an interesting (albeit relatively useless) piece of functionality might involve a control to cycle the colours since it seems like the graphical components are fairly simple. That sorta analogous colour composition could work in a number of other hues too, although that might not improve legibility all that much (e.g. pink on pink).

Good thoughts. Thanks for feedback @Mandy McClausky & @Erik von Stackelberg. Purple isn't really integral to my identity, just playing with ideas. I may try a dark/light switcher.
