The right one.
The one on the right doesn't make sense. Because its suppose to be a compass you have to be able to find north, the red arrow does that.
So you're from NZ? Nice work! I like how you're stripping them back just a bit. I'm curious, did you teach yourself how to make these icons, or is there actually a design school in New Zealand that encourages this style?

@Nik That's awesome man, really like your work; I'm not usually such a fan of realistic icons etc, but this is somehow a bit more subtle :)
You really should re-make all the default iOS icons with the same thought process behind this one. If I saw this in iOS 7, I would be pleased.
