Thought I'd share the early planning stage of our process. This is part of the wireframe for an upcoming desktop/mobile app. I'd love to hear what process you guys follow when beginning an UI/UX project.

I'm all over the place — anything from printer paper and pencil sketches (combined with POP or InVision), to vector sketches in Adobe Ideas on the iPad, to doctoring screenshots in PS (for enhancing an existing project).
As always, the best tool is always the one that's with you in the moment.
Recently, after starting a new job, I've been turned on to Adobe Illustrator for wireframes & design. It works surprisingly well for mobile. I'm making a few design templates in Illustrator for Responsive Email Design, Mobile Design & Website design. I will share them on Dribbble soon.
