This is a quick first-round design for a tablet dashboard interface––orange palette. There's a lot of work to be done still, so input would be muchly appreciated. :)
Agree with Ion on the second row of buttons - but I really like the subtlety of the first row. Would using one of the lighter oranges for the second row buttons be too overpowering and throw off your hierarchy? On the top row - If you wanted to get really crazy you could throw a subtle orange gradation from the bottom to about the 33% or 50% mark in height. This combined with the color change to the bottom row buttons could create something of a glow effect that I think might be kind of cool. Just a thought though. if you like it as is I say stick with it :) Very nice work!
@Ion Turcanu Thanks for the feedback Ion! I'm definitely attempting to walk the line between low-contrast and too-low contrast here, but I can see that I might have stepped over that line. I will make some adjustments and see what happens.
@Jared Kopp Great advice, Jared! I definitely like the idea of introducing some subtle orange touches to the navigation. It might be a way to introduce contrast without drastically altering the tones of the design itself. I will definitely play around with that and see what it looks like. Thanks so much!
I like the subtlety of this. I think even adding a slightly darker stroke on the second row of buttons than their background will give them enough contrast to not be lost. Looking forward to seeing more!

Here's my input - it needs more contrast. Especially on the second row of buttons ( network, activity ).
