    I feel like an unlock slider may still be too complicated for some to figure out without having it explained to them. If I had control over the design of the phone I'd go with a physical lock and unlock button, it's easier to understand without having to explain it.

    Without the unlock slider you'd have room for a favorite contacts button like @Lukáš Tisoň suggested. I'd personally like to see a carousel of small pictures representing each of those contacts.

    Also, July 21st is my birthday! I don't know why I noticed that immediately

    edit: I think the carousel would work best with the draft on the left
